Delete your account

You can delete your Pinstr account and its data at any time: in the app, on the website, or by email. You don't need to install anything.
In the app
- Open Pinstr on your Android phone or iPhone, signed in.
- Tap your initial at the top right to open Account.
- At the end, tap Delete account, then Delete account again to confirm.
On the website
- Open pinstr-tc.com on any computer or phone, and sign in with your email and the code we send you.
- Tap your initial at the top right to open Account.
- At the end, tap Delete account, then Delete account again to confirm.
By email
If you can't sign in, email [email protected] from the address of the account, asking us to delete it. We reply to that address to confirm, delete the account within 7 days, and tell you when it's done.
What's deleted
- Your account, your sign-in and your list of devices.
- Everything in My library that you backed up to your own cloud storage, and your albums.
- Projects and trips nobody else is in, with their photos and videos; organizations nobody else is in, with their sites.
- Your home, your last shared location, your notifications and your problem reports.
- Your name on any report you made about someone's content (the report itself stays, for a year after it's dealt with).
Deleted photos and videos leave our storage within about a day. Encrypted backups keep a copy for up to 90 days, then it's gone.
What stays
- Photos, videos and posts you added to other people's spaces (a project, site, trip or organization) stay there with your name, as part of that space's record. To remove them first, delete them yourself where you're allowed to, or ask the space's admins.
- A project you ran with others gets a new admin; an organization you ran alone passes to the person who has been in it longest.
- Photos only on your phone stay on your phone until you remove Pinstr from it, or sign out and choose to remove them.
If a project you're alone in keeps its photos until a set date (an organization's rule), it can't be deleted before that date; Pinstr tells you so.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to delete your account to remove things. In the app you can delete photos, videos, albums, links and the projects you run, clear your home in Account, and switch off problem reports.
