Terms of use
Updated 12 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Pinstr. Your photos stay yours. Please read what isn't allowed, and how we handle reports.
The agreement
Pinstr is made by Eugene Mostoles Marzan, working as Thinkin Cup, in the Philippines ("we", "us"). By using the Pinstr apps, the website pinstr-tc.com or the pages Pinstr's links open, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
If you use Pinstr for an organization, you confirm you may agree to these terms for it.
Who can use Pinstr
You must be 18 or over, and able to make a binding agreement. You may not use Pinstr if the law forbids you to.
Your account
- An account is for one person. Signing up is signing in: the code we email you creates it.
- Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your email account secure.
- If you lose a phone or think someone else is using your account, sign that device out from another one (Account, then Devices) and tell us.
Early access
Pinstr is free during early access, and still being built. Features will change, arrive and sometimes go; something may not work on every phone. When something breaks, tell us with Report a problem.
Paid plans will come later. Before anything you use costs money, we'll tell you in the app what changes and what it costs. Nothing you've added will be removed because plans start.
A photo only on your phone is lost with the phone. Back up, or add to a space, anything you can't lose.
Your photos and content
You own what you add to Pinstr: photos, videos, notes, drawings and everything else.
You give us permission to store, copy and process it (for example to make smaller copies, map tiles and stamps), and to show it to you, to the people you share it with and through the links you make, only as needed to run Pinstr for you. This lasts while it's in Pinstr, and in backups until they expire. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI.
You're responsible for what you add and share. You must have the right to it, and photograph people and places as the law and the site allow, including the consent of people who can be recognized where the law requires it.
Spaces, organizations and links
- What you add to someone else's space (a project, site, trip or organization) can be seen by its people as the space allows, and changed or removed by its admins. It stays there, with your name, if you leave or delete your account.
- An organization keeps its own copy of what its people add, and its admins decide its rules: who belongs, how long photos are kept (some can't be deleted before a date), and whether work accounts are required to sign in.
- A link shows what you choose to anyone who has its address. Don't put other people's private information on a link without their consent. You can switch a link off at any time.
What isn't allowed
Don't add, share or link to content, and don't use Pinstr, for any of the following.
- Anything that sexually exploits or endangers children. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
- Sexually explicit material or nudity.
- Violence, threats, harassment, bullying, hate against people for who they are, or encouraging self-harm or terrorism.
- Invading someone's privacy: photographing people where they expect privacy, sharing someone's home or whereabouts without their consent, or using location sharing or "Where are you?" to follow someone who doesn't want it.
- Misleading proof: faking where or when a photo was taken, or changing a photo to deceive.
- Pretending to be someone else, fraud, scams or spam.
- Content you don't have the right to share, such as other people's copyrighted work.
- Anything illegal.
- Attacking or overloading Pinstr, getting around its limits or security, reaching other people's data, or copying Pinstr's data or code in bulk.
Reports, and what we do
- To report a photo or video someone else added to a space you're in, open it, then More, then Report; a board post, from its menu. To report a link, use the flag on its page. You can also email [email protected]. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
- A space's admins can remove photos and posts, and remove or block people.
- We look at every report. We may remove content, switch off links, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, and we report illegal content to the authorities. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you why.
What Pinstr is, and isn't
- We work to keep Pinstr running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Pinstr is provided "as is", as far as the law allows.
- Positions, directions, floors, heights, place names and a drone photo's ground are estimates from your phone's sensors and maps. Don't rely on them for surveying, legal boundaries, navigation or safety.
- A proof page reports the checks Pinstr made on a photo. It is not a guarantee that the photo shows what it seems to.
- Maps and satellite pictures come from others and may be out of date.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or loss of data that wasn't backed up or added to a space; and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Pinstr in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending
- You can stop using Pinstr and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you first and let you export what you added.
- If we ever close Pinstr, we'll tell you at least 60 days before, so you can export everything.
Everything else
- Changes: when these terms change, we'll update this page and its date. For important changes we'll tell you in the app before they apply; using Pinstr after that means you accept them.
- App stores: if you got Pinstr from Google Play or Apple's App Store, their terms for apps apply as well. These terms are between you and us only: Google and Apple aren't responsible for Pinstr or its support.
- Law: these terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, and disputes go to its courts.
- Contact: [email protected].
